Happy Father's Day to all the dads.  It was a beautiful, 53 degree, clear blue sky morning when we took off at 8:00 this morning.  We ran and walked Jackson State Forest Road 500, starting at "The Scales" or the junction with Road 600.

After a very long and steady uphill run, we coasted back downhill at a pretty good clip.  Successfully navigating past all of the rocks that want to trip you, we all declared it to be a good run.  Joel, faster than the rest of us, ran way out in front (mountain lion decoy!).

Next week, we again get to check out half of our newest Coastal Trail.  It is friendly for all, walkers, runners, dogs and bikes.  Parking lot is at the west end of Elm Street.  From the start, you can go either north towards MacKerricher or south towards Noyo.  It is very nice!
