The Fog Dodgers invite all residents and visitors of the Mendocino Coast to join us on our weekly group runs and walks. We have runners and walkers of all abilities (and even some bikers) and we have only one "rule" - we start at exactly 8:00 a.m. on Sundays. Exercise at your own pace (1/2 hour out, 1/2 hour back) and experience the fresh Mendocino coastal air.

Fog Dodgers provides a fun, safe way to explore some of our local trails and back roads and to meet new friends. You can find out where we're going to be by reading the bottom of last week's post, then clicking on the "Our Routes" tab above. We average 15-20 persons each Sunday and typically half will go to breakfast together afterwards at a nearby restaurant.

POMO BLUFFS

Thank you, John, for today's photos.

Noyo River Navigation Buoy
Nothing out of the ordinary today, overcast, about 55 degrees and good friendships.  We met at Pomo Bluffs Park and the light foggy breeze felt a little on the cool side but was actually just right, once we got moving.  Not too many boats out this morning, the ocean was pretty sloppy.

Eleven of us enjoyed breakfast at David's after the run/walk.

LAKE CLEONE

Noyo River bridge, J. Loomis photo
It was a foggy start to a nice walk and run. Some of us went on a dirt trail that took us north and then cut through to the haul road to get back to where we started. Bob takes honors for running the farthest, and we all enjoyed seeing Roger (and Nancy) today at the walk. Afterward eight of us went to David's Deli for breakfast.

Noyo Coastal Trail-South

I couldn’t make it this morning, but John was nice enough to write up the blog and send some photos.  Thank you John.

It was a beautiful August morning run and walk.  Whales were seen on the inner coastal expanse, spouting their breaths of frothy sea water.  The ocean fragrance of urchin and seaweed wafted up the flowered cliffside bluffs.

More walkers, and one runner, John, made their way on the wonderful coastal trail.

............Later in the evening, I’m sorry John, I can’t move the photos onto the post.  I’m sending this out now, just so everyone will know where next  Sunday’s run/walk will be.

NEXT SUNDAY, AUGUST 19TH, Group Run and Walk, Lake Cleone, beginning at the lake parking lot.@ 8:00 A.M.

EVERY TUESDAY AND THURSDAY, GROUP RUN @ 7:00 A.M.: BIG RIVER LOGGING ROAD.
