The Fog Dodgers invite all residents and visitors of the Mendocino Coast to join us on our weekly group runs and walks. We have runners and walkers of all abilities (and even some bikers) and we have only one "rule" - we start at exactly 8:00 a.m. on Sundays. Exercise at your own pace (1/2 hour out, 1/2 hour back) and experience the fresh Mendocino coastal air.

Fog Dodgers provides a fun, safe way to explore some of our local trails and back roads and to meet new friends. You can find out where we're going to be by reading the bottom of last week's post, then clicking on the "Our Routes" tab above. We average 15-20 persons each Sunday and typically half will go to breakfast together afterwards at a nearby restaurant.

RUSSIAN GULCH STATE PARK

It was a nice but chilly spring morning.  Some wildflowers are beginning to show and we had a nice group this morning.

Present today:  Pat, M.T., Fran, Shari, Jean, Barbara, Charlene, Bob, John, Gay, Mark, Nancy, Tom and Joe, who showed up at Van Damme! (14).  Since I'm doing this a couple of days late, I hope I didn't forget someone.

Next Sunday will be Easter Sunday.  We can run and walk around Noyo Bay and across the bridge, or if you prefer not going across the bridge, a nice option is taking the trail down to Hare Creek Beach.

Thanks to John, as always, for all of his great photography.

Thanks to John, for all of today's photos, all taken around Mendocino

It was very cold this morning, but fortunately the wind had subsided.  The clear sky made for a beautiful morning.

I think that the State Parks here are still closed until April (what was formerly the start of abalone season).  Lets take advantage of a quiet campground for a good run or walk.  The last time down there, the trail was in good shape.  You can also stay up on top and walk around the headlands and picnic area.

SUNDAY, MARCH 28TH @ 8:OO, RUSSIAN GULCH STATE PARK

MARCH 14 -COASTAL TRAIL SOUTH

This is the first morning after we set our clocks forward for Daylight Savings Time.  There was a small turnout and I didn't get names of those present.

John has supplied a few photos and I hope to see you next Sunday at Big River.  The road is a little muddy, so I wouldn't wear my best shoes.

Thanks, John!

CASPAR LOGGING ROAD

Today was warm and bright coming on the heels of a nice rain last night.

A good morning for walkers and runners although we had small numbers.

Present were Charlene, Mark and Gay (with show dogs), Shari, Fran, John, and Bob.

All photos courtesy of John Loomis. Thank you John for the fabulous photos.

There was a young lady from Caspar - fast running she once tried to master.
It proved to be a disaster - at the end of the run when everyone passed her.
She decided walking was faster.

A closing thought. Consider inviting your friends, family, or neighbors to join the Fog dodgers.

NEXT SUNDAY, March 14 @ 8:00 A.M.: Coastal Trail South

EVERY TUESDAY AND THURSDAY, GROUP RUN @ 7:00 A.M.: BIG RIVER LOGGING ROAD ON TUESDAY AND HEESER DRIVE/MENDOCINO ON THURSDAY.
