The Fog Dodgers invite all residents and visitors of the Mendocino Coast to join us on our weekly group runs and walks. We have runners and walkers of all abilities (and even some bikers) and we have only one "rule" - we start at exactly 8:00 a.m. on Sundays. Exercise at your own pace (1/2 hour out, 1/2 hour back) and experience the fresh Mendocino coastal air.

Fog Dodgers provides a fun, safe way to explore some of our local trails and back roads and to meet new friends. You can find out where we're going to be by reading the bottom of last week's post, then clicking on the "Our Routes" tab above. We average 15-20 persons each Sunday and typically half will go to breakfast together afterwards at a nearby restaurant.

MENDOCINO HEADLANDS

J. Loomis - Mendo Water Towers

It was a relatively warm morning.  The temperature was 58 degrees as we started out.  However, there was a nice breeze off the ocean and the fog was hanging back from the headland.   Once again, we were a smallish group.  Present were Nancy B, Fran, Sue, Joe, Nancy T,  Bob, John, Ron and Toni.

PUDDING CREEK TRESTLE

J. Loomis - A view over Pudding Creek Beach

It was a calm and sunny morning.  My car's temperature gauge said it was 52 degrees.  We had a visitor this Sunday.  Kim returned to Fort Bragg to run with us.  We were glad to have her, although her daughter, Adeline, stayed in the motel.  At the turn around point the fog was trying to move back in, but all in all it was a very pleasant morning.

It was a smaller group than usual and without Tom we weren't sure when to start.  But, we managed.  In attendance were John, Bob, Kim, Fran, Deb, Sam, Pat, Nancy T, Cindy and Charlene.

Thanks for the photos, John.

CASPAR LOGGING ROAD

Another great morning on the coast.  We met on JSF Road 500, at "The Scales" for those that have been here a long time and can remember.  It was sunny, calm and 53 degrees.  I think the fog came in about the time we were finishing.

John couldn't run this morning, better things to do, like visit his new grand-daughter.  Thanks John, for still giving us some nice pictures to dress up the blog.

WARD AVENUE

A beautiful morning!  We met at Ward Avenue under clear, sunny skies and 53 degrees, with just a slight breeze.  The ocean was kind of choppy but the swells and waves not too big.  There were boats out trolling for salmon but I wouldn't want to have been on one of them.

It's our Independence Day weekend and John found a flag photo, along with some pretty flowers and an interesting pine snag.  Thanks, John, for always coming through with blog photos.
