We dodged the holiday crowds for our hike on CASPAR LOGGING ROAD. "Early in the morning" the heat was not bad, a reprieve from the past few days of extraordinary hot and mostly windless days. Hikers were Diana, Jeff, John, Sky, Nancy, Tom, Shari, Jean, Fran, Eric, Zelda, Charlene, Joe, and Pat, with Leon providing moral support.
Afterwards I think it was about eight of us including Peter who ate breakfast at the Good Life.

Park at what used to be the Inn at the Cobbler's Walk (you can still find this on Google Maps) but now has a "Mendocino Realty, Sotheby's" sign and a faded signs saying "Peterson/Headlands Lane". There is a large pine tree that has been blocking the path, but now there is a trail around its root end that allows one to continue (I hiked it last evening out to the coast). The trail is narrow and the grasses are very tall and lush right now but the mud has dried up. I did not get any ticks last evening.EVERY TUESDAY AND THURSDAY, GROUP RUN/WALK @ 7:30 A.M.: COASTAL TRAIL - MIDDLE, behind the Fort Bragg Fire Station.
