The Fog Dodgers invite all residents and visitors of the Mendocino Coast to join us on our weekly group runs and walks. We have runners and walkers of all abilities (and even some bikers) and we have only one "rule" - we start at exactly 8:00 a.m. on Sundays. Exercise at your own pace (1/2 hour out, 1/2 hour back) and experience the fresh Mendocino coastal air.

Fog Dodgers provides a fun, safe way to explore some of our local trails and back roads and to meet new friends. You can find out where we're going to be by reading the bottom of last week's post, then clicking on the "Our Routes" tab above. We average 15-20 persons each Sunday and typically half will go to breakfast together afterwards at a nearby restaurant.

NOYO HEADLANDS TRAIL - NORTH

Glass Beach Headlands
Although the morning started out pretty chilly, 44 degrees at my house, it was a beautiful 56 when we started our walk.  The tide was low and the water was a brilliant deep blue.  Some of us headed north toward the trestle and some went south to Soldier Bay.  This walk gives us lots of options for walking or running. By the time we got back, it was shorts and tee shirt time.

We were joined this morning by Jan, Ron, Charlene, Neil, Nancy B., Rick, Nancy T. Roger, Shari, Susan Bruce and Fran.  9 of us had breakfast at David’s Deli.  Thank Nancy B. for the list of names.  If it been left just to me, this paragraph would be missing.

I can't remember if Tom and Nancy are running the 5K or 10K at the National Senior Games in Birmingham Alabama.  The 10k was yesterday, but I didn't see either in the results.  So assuming they're in the 5k, the race is tomorrow and the results can be found here - best of luck guys.  And oh Tom, any chance you could blog while you're out of town?

As always, thanks to John for most of the photos.

Upcoming venues:
June 18th, Ward Avenue
June 25th, Noyo Headlands Trail - South
July 2nd, Caspar Logging Roads
July 9th, Pudding Creek Trestle

NEXT SUNDAY, DATE @ 8:00 A.M.: June 18th, Ward Avenue
EVERY TUESDAY AND THURSDAY, GROUP RUN @ 7:00 A.M.: BIG RIVER LOGGING ROAD.

Thanks to Roger and John! An interesting and pretty blog. You're right, Roger, it's the 5K and it is at 6:30 pm, Monday. I'm normally getting ready for bed at that time! It will be about 82 degrees with a 50% chance of thunderstorms.

We missed going with the Fog Dodgers for a run and to David's. As to blogging while away, I'm afraid that I'm losing my connec

Terry and Ginny Camping were there too. Hard to notice us. We were a couple of minutes late and then had to wait to use the restroom. Better luck next time.
