At RUSSIAN GULCH the weather was foggy and cool, quite comfortable after the recent hot weather. Nancy drove Tom out to greet us all after his successful surgery. Yea! Though he couldn't yet hike with us, he seeming in pretty good shape. So, for the hike, that left Eric, Mark, Jean, John, Sky, Charlene, Deb, Sam, Shari and Joe, with Bob running. Fran then joined the group a bit later. In the aftermath of all the rain we've been having the vegetation was thick on both sides of the trail and it looked like several trees had recently fallen at the point where most of us were turning around. Though the trees weren't blocking the trail, they formed almost a roof structure over the path.
Afterwards a large contingent, about eight I think, went to St Anthony's for their pancake breakfast. This time they had strawberries to go along with pancakes and french toast.
