It was a perfect morning, not just for those folk escaping the inland heat, but also for us locals. There was no wind, therefore the ocean was flat calm, and it was overcast, so no need to worry about sunscreen or burn. On a day like today, you could walk forever it seemed, unless you were a Fog Dodger, then your chances of being on the disabled list were about 50-50. Actually, the healthy did slightly outnumber us on light duty.
Our daughter sent this photo, so proud of her vegan parents;
Present today: Cheryl, Scott, Cindy, Pat, Leon, Shari, Peter, John, Deb, Sam, Eric, Sky, Fran, Kim, Doug, Nancy and Tom (17).
The ocean this morning was flat calm and crystal clear, perfect for a walk around the Mendocino Headlands. A lot of birds, sitting on their island nests, well protected from predators.
Would you hire these guys?
Thanks to Fran also, for going ahead to the Little River Inn and obtaining for us a table for 10, just abandoned by another group that was unable to keep their reservation.
You know, next weekend is the Fourth of July weekend. The fourth being on Tuesday, I don't know if that makes it a 3 day or 4 day weekend? In any case, we'll hide away from the crowds by walking, running or biking on the Caspar Logging Road. I hope to see you there.
NEXT SUNDAY, JULY 2ND @ 8:00 A.M.: GROUP RUN/WALK/BIKE, CASPAR LOGGING ROAD, You can click on the "Our Routes" tab at the top to get directions, if needed.
EVERY TUESDAY AND THURSDAY, GROUP RUN/WALK @ 7:30 A.M.: COASTAL TRAIL - MIDDLE, behind the Fort Bragg Fire Station.
