The Fog Dodgers invite all residents and visitors of the Mendocino Coast to join us on our weekly group runs and walks. We have runners and walkers of all abilities (and even some bikers) and we have only one "rule" - we start at exactly 8:00 a.m. on Sundays. Exercise at your own pace (1/2 hour out, 1/2 hour back) and experience the fresh Mendocino coastal air.

Fog Dodgers provides a fun, safe way to explore some of our local trails and back roads and to meet new friends. You can find out where we're going to be by reading the bottom of last week's post, then clicking on the "Our Routes" tab above. We average 15-20 persons each Sunday and typically half will go to breakfast together afterwards at a nearby restaurant.

POMO BLUFFS PARK

A little trivia for you:  Deb coined the name "Fog Dodgers", back in 1998, when we had our first Group Run.  Sam came up with the drawing for the logo.  Deb, myself, and three others met for our first Group Run on 7/26/1998 and there's been a Fog Dodger Sunday every single Sunday since then (one done virtually near home for Covid last year).  Thanks Deb and Sam.

Today, we did dodge the fog, easily.  It was a beautiful morning, 55 degrees, sunny and almost calm.

John couldn't make it today but fortunately, I have some of his photos saved, thanks John.

Present today:  Shari, Toni, Joe, Kim, Doug, Jean, Charlene, Pat, Leon, Deb, Sam, Diana, Jeff, Nancy and Tom (15).

It's had better days.  A sad ending to what was once a fine fishing vessel.

John sent me a few pictures after I had posted the blog.  His pictures have always helped the blog so much, I've just got to squeeze a couple more in here.  Thanks again, John.

Back on June 20, two months ago, we met at the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse.  I think most of us enjoyed that, and by request, next week we'll try it again.  It's good for running, walking and biking, easy parking and dog friendly.  Hope to see you there.   In two weeks, again by request, we'll meet at Jackson State Forest Road 450, (off of Simpson Lane).

SUNDAY, AUG. 22 @ 8:OO A.M., GROUP RUN, WALK AND BIKE,  POINT CABRILLO LIGHTHOUSE, this one is not listed  in "Our Routes" but our starting point is the parking lot above the lighthouse, right on Point Cabrillo Drive.

EVERY TUESDAY AND THURSDAY, GROUP RUN/WALK @ 7:30 A.M.:  Beginning behind the Fort Bragg Fire Station.
