The Fog Dodgers invite all residents and visitors of the Mendocino Coast to join us on our weekly group runs and walks. We have runners and walkers of all abilities (and even some bikers) and we have only one "rule" - we start at exactly 8:00 a.m. on Sundays. Exercise at your own pace (1/2 hour out, 1/2 hour back) and experience the fresh Mendocino coastal air.

Fog Dodgers provides a fun, safe way to explore some of our local trails and back roads and to meet new friends. You can find out where we're going to be by reading the bottom of last week's post, then clicking on the "Our Routes" tab above. We average 15-20 persons each Sunday and typically half will go to breakfast together afterwards at a nearby restaurant.

MENDOCINO TOWN AND HEESER DRIVE

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms.  And thanks to John, for all of today's photos.  I saw on Listserv that he was selling his 5 barrel cacti, pictured below.  I don't know if he sold them or not.  A lot of interesting things pop up on MCN's Listserv.

It was windy again this morning, but not nearly as bad as it was last week.  Today, we actually had two bike riders.   Present today:  Nancy and Tom brought daughter, Shannon, and granddaughter, Logan, and her friend, Julia.  Also there: Gay, Mark, Pat, Leon, Ann, Jean, Fran, Charlene, Deb, Sam, Toni, Joe, Kim and Doug (19).

We went by Jean's place on our walk and saw her very pretty yard.  I think she may be fortunate to be on a separate water system from the town.  Many in town are having to buy truckloads of water now, and it a long time in the future before we'll get significant rainfall.

At our 8:00 start, Mendocino was still fairly quiet on this Mother's Day.  It was easy walking the streets, very few cars.  At 9:15 when we departed, things were beginning to pick up.  We had hopeful dreams of getting into The Goodlife Bakery/Cafe but a long line outside the door quashed those dreams.  We ended up in Harvest Market, buying not the healthiest of breakfasts.
