The Fog Dodgers invite all residents and visitors of the Mendocino Coast to join us on our weekly group runs and walks. We have runners and walkers of all abilities (and even some bikers) and we have only one "rule" - we start at exactly 8:00 a.m. on Sundays. Exercise at your own pace (1/2 hour out, 1/2 hour back) and experience the fresh Mendocino coastal air.

Fog Dodgers provides a fun, safe way to explore some of our local trails and back roads and to meet new friends. You can find out where we're going to be by reading the bottom of last week's post, then clicking on the "Our Routes" tab above. We average 15-20 persons each Sunday and typically half will go to breakfast together afterwards at a nearby restaurant.

COASTAL TRAIL - MIDDLE

I miss John.  John is visiting his granddaughter today and so I'll use a couple of earlier photos that he supplied.  They're not exactly where we walked and ran today but close enough.

Again, this week, we had a small group.  It wasn't the Corona Virus, but traveling plans, that has some of our favorite Fog Dodgers away.  Present today: Nancy T., Cheryl N., Neil, Fran, Charlene, Ron, Nancy and Tom (8).

It was 40 degrees at 8:00, partially cloudy and just a slight breeze.  I heard a couple of times, "what a pretty morning."

We all went to David's for breakfast.  Kira says that her business, and most of the others around town, is down 30%.  She was thankful of us Fog Dodgers and her other loyal customers.  We had our usual very good breakfasts with lots of coffee refills.

Next Suday we will run and walk at Russian Gulch State Park.  It's been a long time since we went there.  We will see what condition the trail is in.  For walkers though, you may just want to head west, out to the Day Use Area and walk around the blow hole and the headlands trails.  Runners can make it down the hill and thru the campground and up the Fern Canyon Trail.  It's a beautiful park.

NEXT SUNDAY, MARCH 22 @ 8:00 A.M.: RUSSIAN GULCH STATE PARK

Shelter-in-Place:  (Which I interpret the same as the Governor's "Stay at Home" order)

Mendocino County is using the same guidelines as San Francisco and relevant parts are copied below.  We can run or walk but we'll likely skip breakfast, unless we want to follow each other past the Drive-up windows.
