The Fog Dodgers invite all residents and visitors of the Mendocino Coast to join us on our weekly group runs and walks. We have runners and walkers of all abilities (and even some bikers) and we have only one "rule" - we start at exactly 8:00 a.m. on Sundays. Exercise at your own pace (1/2 hour out, 1/2 hour back) and experience the fresh Mendocino coastal air.

Fog Dodgers provides a fun, safe way to explore some of our local trails and back roads and to meet new friends. You can find out where we're going to be by reading the bottom of last week's post, then clicking on the "Our Routes" tab above. We average 15-20 persons each Sunday and typically half will go to breakfast together afterwards at a nearby restaurant.

CASPAR LOGGING ROADS

We had two things going this morning, Caspar Logging Road and the Noyo Headlands Race.

Healdsburg Tony, Bob, Nancy and Tom went to the race, where it was as foggy as John's photos above depict it.  Hopefully, those runners from out of town could stick around long enough to see the views they missed during the race.  Tony and Nancy were First Place in their Divisions while Bob was Third, well done!

All photos from J. Loomis, thank you!

Running and walking on the Caspar Logging Road were: Charlene, Shari, Peter, Cindy, Nancy T., Neil, John, Sue, Bruce and Toni.

Yesterday (Saturday the 31st), we went for a run on the Van Damme Fern Canyon Trail.  It still has some serious erosion where the creek has run down the trail, but it can be run on and I think walking would be fine.  I'll try to schedule it back in to our rotation as long as the rain doesn't begin.  When it rains, it will again be unsafe.

NEXT SUNDAY, SEPT. 8TH @ 8:00 A.M.: PUDDING CREEK TRESTLE

EVERY TUESDAY AND THURSDAY, GROUP RUN @ 7:00 A.M.: BIG RIVER LOGGING ROAD ON TUESDAY AND HEESER DRIVE/MENDOCINO ON THURSDAY.
