The Fog Dodgers invite all residents and visitors of the Mendocino Coast to join us on our weekly group runs and walks. We have runners and walkers of all abilities (and even some bikers) and we have only one "rule" - we start at exactly 8:00 a.m. on Sundays. Exercise at your own pace (1/2 hour out, 1/2 hour back) and experience the fresh Mendocino coastal air.

Fog Dodgers provides a fun, safe way to explore some of our local trails and back roads and to meet new friends. You can find out where we're going to be by reading the bottom of last week's post, then clicking on the "Our Routes" tab above. We average 15-20 persons each Sunday and typically half will go to breakfast together afterwards at a nearby restaurant.

PUDDING CREEK TRESTLE

The last time we walked and ran the Pudding Creek Trestle was December 27th of 2015. Between the new Pomo Bluffs and Noyo Bay and Noyo Headlands Parks North and South, our old go to route has been abandoned. Today there has been a plethora of abalone divers all along the coast including Noyo Bay and Headlands parks. There were also families at the motels along the Pudding Creek Trestle route enjoying the lowest tide of the year. Pudding Creek was very low this morning too.

Today we had only eleven walkers and three runners. No one went to David's for breakfast today so we all we our separate ways either for a Mother's Day breakfast or getting ready to go up to Westporte for the rubber ducky competition.

-->John Loomis provided me with several lovely photos, two are terrific shots of the Pudding Creek Trestle Bridge and two others are colorful shots of a garden and a delightful mail box.
As John noted, it was a perfect day for running and walking. A nice coastal Mother’s Day, to be enjoyed by all. It was a little misty, with cloud cover, but not too warm, and not too cold. Three runners made their way to Mackerricher, with Jeff in the front, and Jan following suit. I came in a 3rd place only to catch up and split ways at Mackerricher. Winding the way back along the bluffs, the low tide filled the air with scents of abalone, and iodine kelp flavors. Many abalone pickers were out in force looking for that golden ticket, the 7 inch ab clinging to the wet rocks.

Great angle of the bridge.

Froggy needs some mail!
