The Fog Dodgers invite all residents and visitors of the Mendocino Coast to join us on our weekly group runs and walks. We have runners and walkers of all abilities (and even some bikers) and we have only one "rule" - we start at exactly 8:00 a.m. on Sundays. Exercise at your own pace (1/2 hour out, 1/2 hour back) and experience the fresh Mendocino coastal air.

Fog Dodgers provides a fun, safe way to explore some of our local trails and back roads and to meet new friends. You can find out where we're going to be by reading the bottom of last week's post, then clicking on the "Our Routes" tab above. We average 15-20 persons each Sunday and typically half will go to breakfast together afterwards at a nearby restaurant.

5th Annual Bin-2-Bin-2-Bin Run/Walk

"Like so many runners, if I don't run, I don't feel right.  I don't feel relaxed; I don't enjoy eating. " -- Fred Lebow

5th Annual Bin-2-Bin-2-Bin Run Walk, J. Loomis Photo
Well, that was great!  With so many of us traveling around at Thanksgiving time,  and from the four previous Bin-2-Bin-2-Bin Run/Walks turnouts, I am so pleased with the great turnout we had today.  Thank you all, I think we did a very nice little thing to help out our local Food Bank.

It was a good morning, weather-wise, for running and walking.  There were high clouds, no wind and 47 degrees, just about perfect!  Thank you Shari and Peter, for bringing K(C?)atherine and Nate.  I hope they enjoyed the morning.  Also present:  Geri, Donna, Steve, Charlene, Caroline, Richard, Bob J., Fay, John, Bob, Rod, Melissa, Janis, Nancy B., Rick, (should I count Kira, front-center in the photo?), Nancy and Tom (21!).  Previously, our best for this particular run/walk was in 2012, with 10.

I think that 15 of us had breakfast at David's this morning.  I'm happy that Kira got into our photo.  She continues to treat us, and all customers, really well.  She has boundless energy and will move tables and chairs from one end of the restaurant to the other, to accommodate different sized groups.  The food is delicious and the staff, hard working, polite and efficient.   She has established a large, local and repeating customer base.  I really do feel that it's time for her to change the restaurant's name to Kira's, in order to receive the recognition she deserves.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS POTLUCK BREAKFAST AND COOKIE EXCHANGE, Dec. 14th, after the run/walk, at Nancy and Tom's house.

NEXT SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 30TH @ 8:00 A.M.: CASPAR LOGGING ROADS, see "Our Routes" above.

EVERY TUESDAY @ 7:00 A.M.: RUSSIAN GULCH STATE PARK, beginning on Point Cabrillo Drive, 1/10 of a mile north of its south end.

EVERY THURSDAY @ 7:00 A.M.: VAN DAMME STATE PARK, beginning at the beach.
