Yesterday's forecast rain finally showed up this morning, but it was really light, so I wouldn't go so far as to say that those who showed up this morning were especially hardy because of it. Still, it was a fine group who enjoyed the first fall sprinkles pushing up the mushrooms and keeping down the dust. The temp in the mid 50's was quite pleasant, but the humidity was a bit too generous for my taste.Enjoying today's sprinkles were John L, Toni, Mark, Roger, Nancy T., Ron, Charlene and Johnny (8). I considered leaving Roger off the list today, but I and several others did see him, and I could never leave him off the list intentionally, even in recompense. (Why does "recompense" sound so British to me?) Four of us then had breakfast at David's with Brad.
NEXT SUNDAY, October 2 @ 8 AM: MacKerricher Haul Road - it's been a while since we were there. Doesn't look like we're going to have rain again for a while, anyway.
EVERY TUESDAY @ 7 AM: RUSSIAN GULCH STATE PARK, beginning on Point Cabrillo Drive, 1/10 of a mile north of its south end.
EVERY THURSDAY @ 7 AM: VAN DAMME STATE PARK, beginning at the beach.
