The Fog Dodgers invite all residents and visitors of the Mendocino Coast to join us on our weekly group runs and walks. We have runners and walkers of all abilities (and even some bikers) and we have only one "rule" - we start at exactly 8:00 a.m. on Sundays. Exercise at your own pace (1/2 hour out, 1/2 hour back) and experience the fresh Mendocino coastal air.

Fog Dodgers provides a fun, safe way to explore some of our local trails and back roads and to meet new friends. You can find out where we're going to be by reading the bottom of last week's post, then clicking on the "Our Routes" tab above. We average 15-20 persons each Sunday and typically half will go to breakfast together afterwards at a nearby restaurant.

NAVARRO RIDGE

This time our walk at NAVARRO RIDGE drew a pretty good contingent of fogdodgers: John; Nancy; Tom; Beth; Bob D.: Sky; Eric; Deb; Sam; Bob C. (running); Claudette; Jean; Fran; Zelda, Joe; Diana; and Jeff. The weather was cool - it felt like fall.

Afterwards most of us went to the grange for their pancake breakfast.

POMO BLUFFS

POMO BLUFFS was the choice for this Sunday. There was plenty of fog making for a pleasant walk. Hiking were Deb, Sam, Diana, Jeff, Nancy, Tom, John, Joe, Kelly, Charlene, Fran, Jean, Beth, and Bob.

Eleven of us went to the Laurel Deli for breakfast. I was crowded and we didn't get the back room, but they manged to assemble a long table for us near the door.

MENDOCINO HEADLANDS

We all felt that it was a spectacular morning.  John's picture here of one of Mendocino's water towers shows what the morning looked like.  But the "feel" was also perfect.  It was warm, calm and the ocean was flat, very quiet.

Fran's son, Stephen, was here and made us an actual Running and Walking Group.  Thanks Stephen.  Also present today: Jean, Charlene, Barbara, Kim, Doug, Kelly, John, Mark, Eric, Sky, Beth, Bob, Shari, Nancy and Tom (17).

John said he had an interesting picture taking day.  Here's a few of his photos.

CASPAR LOGGING ROAD

Sad news, John's garden is telling us that Summer is over and Fall is near:  Fall is nice also, just hate to lose the long summer days.

On just my second week of Reign as Substitute Blogger, I couldn't let Covid stop me.  When I announced upon arrival that I had Covid, our circle immediately expanded.  I did keep my distance from all and did not cough or sneeze.

Present today:  Eve and Gary, Mark, Kelly, Fran, Sky, Jean, Charlene, Shari, Eric, Sam, John, Beth and Bob, Barbara, Nancy and Tom (17).

                                                             Caspar "Duck Pond"

While walking in Schollenberger Park, Petaluma, this week, I came upon this sign.  I said to myself, boy do we need this sign.  We actually need about six of them, or more, at each access point to our Coastal Trail.  I've submitted my recommendation to the F. B. City Council.  Fingers crossed.
