The Fog Dodgers invite all residents and visitors of the Mendocino Coast to join us on our weekly group runs and walks. We have runners and walkers of all abilities (and even some bikers) and we have only one "rule" - we start at exactly 8:00 a.m. on Sundays. Exercise at your own pace (1/2 hour out, 1/2 hour back) and experience the fresh Mendocino coastal air.

Fog Dodgers provides a fun, safe way to explore some of our local trails and back roads and to meet new friends. You can find out where we're going to be by reading the bottom of last week's post, then clicking on the "Our Routes" tab above. We average 15-20 persons each Sunday and typically half will go to breakfast together afterwards at a nearby restaurant.

NAVARRO RIDGE ROAD

We had a nice walk today on Navarro Ridge Road.  The strong breeze forecasted did not materialize and the overcast sky kept things nice and dry.  John had to catch up at the beginning because his dedication to picture taking found interesting things to photo just as we were supposed to be starting out.  His photos are below.

Present today:  Sky, Jean, Diana, Jeff, Beth, Bob D., John, Nancy and Tom (9).

It's a pretty time of the year to be out walking or running.  Spring flowers are plentiful, trees are getting their leaves back, fruit trees are blooming and everything is very green.  We are fortunate to live in such a pretty place, with air that is always ocean fresh.

Thanks, John, for dressing up our blog with your photos.

COASTAL TRAIL - SOUTH (Taco Bell)

Happy Easter!  We missed the good old days, when we had an "Easter Bunny" run out ahead of us and hide eggs.  It was just a "regular old Sunday morning", overcast, calm and about 50 degrees.  But then,  getting a slightly late start and catching up from behind, in a real hurry came Jean, wearing her Bunny Ears and saving the holiday spirit.

Our friend, Tony (of Healdsburg), was here today.  He must have brought a running bug along with him because for a moment, we had six people running ahead of the pack.  I crapped out quickly, leaving five actual runners.  It was a nice sight to see Fog Dodger runners again.

Present today: Tony, Cheryl, Scott, Kelly, Deb, Sam, Shari, Mark, John, Bob, Jean, Sky, Nancy and Tom (14).

Thank you, John, for taking some photos for the blog today.  They're mostly very "seasonal."

                                                                    Happy Easter!

CASPAR LOGGING ROAD

We all had a nice walk at CASPAR LOGGING ROAD. It's  gentle climb up the road to warm up and then a slight descent coming back, so a good balance of effort. Hiking were Kim, Doug and Bowie, Eric, John, Sky, Shari, Toni, Joe, Nancy, Tom, Charlene, and Beth, and Bob (13).

Afterwards we dispersed for mostly separate breakfasts.

BIG RIVER

It's feeling like spring. Our hike at BIG RIVER yesterday drew a large group. Hiking were Eric, John, Sky, Diana, Jeff, Jean, Nancy, Tom, Toni, Joe, Charlene, Bob, Kim, Doug, Mark, Barbara, Beth, and Bob (18). There was a sense of the rain, which came that evening, but overall a nice relatively warm day with minimal wind, which can often be an issue at BIG RIVER.
