The Fog Dodgers invite all residents and visitors of the Mendocino Coast to join us on our weekly group runs and walks. We have runners and walkers of all abilities (and even some bikers) and we have only one "rule" - we start at exactly 8:00 a.m. on Sundays. Exercise at your own pace (1/2 hour out, 1/2 hour back) and experience the fresh Mendocino coastal air.

Fog Dodgers provides a fun, safe way to explore some of our local trails and back roads and to meet new friends. You can find out where we're going to be by reading the bottom of last week's post, then clicking on the "Our Routes" tab above. We average 15-20 persons each Sunday and typically half will go to breakfast together afterwards at a nearby restaurant.

WARD AVENUE

We braved the icy winds of the path at WARD AVENUE this time. There is definitely the feeling of autumn in the air. But is was a beautiful day  and a decent crowd showed up: Tom (this time without Nancy), Cindy, Eric, Bob, Beth, Joe, Toni (back from New York for a short while), Charlene, Shari, Sky, Fran, and Jean.

Afterwards a contingent when to Denny's for Breakfast while three of us went to David's.

John has sent some of his photos:

POMO BLUFFS

We had pretty good turnout at POMO BLUFFS today, but we didn't manage to dodge the fog so we aren't living up to our name. Still a nice walk in cool weather with a couple of members who had been absent for a time making a return. Hiking were Diana, Jeff, Toni, Joe, John, Eric, Hannah Leigh, Mark, Nancy, Tom, Charlene, Jean, Fran, Shari, Beth, and Bob.

Afterwards some went to the Laurel Deli for breakfast and a couple to the Home Style Cafe.

Here are the pictures John submitted for the day:

RUSSIAN GULCH

Today we hiked at RUSSIAN GULCH, a route we last hiked in May. The parks has been working on the trail so it was in good shape as far as we got. Hiking were John, Joe Eric, Mark, Hannah Leigh, Nancy, Tom, Charlene, Deb, Sam, Sky, Jean, Fran, and a hiker from the past, Erin. It was nice and cool, which helped when ascending the hill back to our cars.

Afterwards eleven of us ate breakfast at the Good Life Cafe. It was a nice breakfast although some were served wayyy before others. Also there was an encounter with the Booze Riders who consider themselves very important.
