The Fog Dodgers invite all residents and visitors of the Mendocino Coast to join us on our weekly group runs and walks. We have runners and walkers of all abilities (and even some bikers) and we have only one "rule" - we start at exactly 8:00 a.m. on Sundays. Exercise at your own pace (1/2 hour out, 1/2 hour back) and experience the fresh Mendocino coastal air.

Fog Dodgers provides a fun, safe way to explore some of our local trails and back roads and to meet new friends. You can find out where we're going to be by reading the bottom of last week's post, then clicking on the "Our Routes" tab above. We average 15-20 persons each Sunday and typically half will go to breakfast together afterwards at a nearby restaurant.

VAN DAMME STATE PARK

This time we went to VAN DAMME, a trail we haven't been to for quite a while. This is a pleasant hike that is not strenuous. The bridge is finally repaired so the trail is now open after a long closure. Hiking were John, Joe, Charlene, Nancy, Tom, Deb, Sam, Fran, Jean, Sky, Beth, Bob, and their friends, some younger folks, Nithin, Aamnah, and Spencer.

Afterwards a couple of tables worth of us went to the Good Life in Mendocino for breakfast. After drying out some of the benches and chairs we had our picnic table breakfasts.

COASTAL TRAIL - SOUTH

Well it was pretty foggy as we started out on the COASTAL TRAIL – SOUTH. In fact some were campaigning to change our group's name from the Fogdodgers to the Old Foggers since we haven't been so successful in dodging the fog lately. Anyway a good sized group showed up: Cheryl, Scott, John, Eric, Joe, Sky, Shari, Deb, Sam, Nancy, Tom, Charlene, Beth, Bob, Fran, Jean, Kim, Doug, Pat, and Leon as chauffeur.

Afterward ten of us went to the Home Style Cafe for a hearty breakfast.

NOYO MOORING BASIN

This time we went to SOUTH HARBOR, having not walked there for a long while. It was cool and overcast for most of the walk. This time we all got pretty close to the trailer park up the Noyo. Hiking were Deb, Sam Nancy, Tom, John, Eric, Pat, Shari, Charlene, and Joe.

Afterward six of us went to breakfast at Saint Anthony's, it being the second Sunday of the month. Toward the end of our breakfast, Pat came by having retrieved Leon, to make a total of eight Fogdodgers.

PUDDING CREEK TRESTLE

The hike was at PUDDING CREEK TRESTLE this time. We have not hiked the haul road there since January. In attendance were Deb, Sam, Erik, John, Pat, with Leon as chauffeur, Sky, Doug, Kim, with Bowie, Mark, Shari, Beth, Bob, Fran, Joe and Bob running. It was pretty foggy so nice and cool. The road to the south end of the trestle is apparently now the place lots of RVs park for the night.

Five of us then went to breakfast at Denny's.
