You can tell by some of our trees and the angle of the sun, Fall is just around the corner.   Today though, was sort of a typical summer morning, 55 degrees, under a solid grey overcast and perfectly calm.  The ocean was also perfectly calm, hardly any whitewater around the rocks.

There were literally hundreds of dungeness crab shells on the beach,  all about 4 inches across their shell.  I've never seen that before and I'm at a loss for the reason.  Maybe it was a normal molt?

Also present this morning:  Fran, Orah, Steve, Tonita, Michael, Geri, John, Nancy and Tom (11).  It is the time of year when many of us travel, hence the small group today.

Those that want to walk their dog next week, you can still do so, just not into Fern Canyon.   You can dog walk around the campground, to the beach and all around the headlands and blow hole.
