The Fog Dodgers invite all residents and visitors of the Mendocino Coast to join us on our weekly group runs and walks. We have runners and walkers of all abilities (and even some bikers) and we have only one "rule" - we start at exactly 8:00 a.m. on Sundays. Exercise at your own pace (1/2 hour out, 1/2 hour back) and experience the fresh Mendocino coastal air.

Fog Dodgers provides a fun, safe way to explore some of our local trails and back roads and to meet new friends. You can find out where we're going to be by reading the bottom of last week's post, then clicking on the "Our Routes" tab above. We average 15-20 persons each Sunday and typically half will go to breakfast together afterwards at a nearby restaurant.

CASPAR LOGGING ROAD

It's Labor Day Weekend, Paul Bunyan Days, perfect weather, kids are back to school, what more could we ask for?  You can blame me (Tom) for choosing Caspar Logging Road today.  When I suggested it to Joe over breakfast last week, I had forgotten that the Fog Dodgers were there just two weeks prior, because I was gone, Cruising the Columbia and Snake Rivers.

Having lived here 54+ years, I've developed enochlophobia, and the Caspar Logging Road seemed good for this weekend.  I had not known about or considered that today was also the Caspar Classic 2026.

Caspar Classic 2026 rider, ready to go!

Fortunately, we started at 8:00 and the Caspar Classic didn't start until 10:00.  Walking today:  Jean, Sky, John, Gary, Eric, Shari, Deb, Sam, Beth, Bob, Charlene, Nancy and Tom (13).

Caspar Farm House, up or sale
Thank you, John, for today's photos.  Without John's talents, it would be a boring blog.

                                                  Caspar Farm House Watertower

                                                        Caspar/Fern Creek cattle

                                                            Caspar Drydock

At the risk of becoming too repetitive, let's walk the Mendocino Headlands and Township next Sunday.  It just works well due to it's closeness to St. Anthony's Pancake Breakfast.  If we cut the walk about 5 minutes short and hustle right over to the church, we seem to get in without any waiting line.   Get there 5 minutes late, and it can sometimes be a very long line/wait.  Must have something to do with church times??  See you next week!

NEXT SUNDAY, SEPT. 13TH, 8:00 A.M., GROUP RUN/WALK, BIKE/WHATEVER, MENDOCINO HEADLANDS AND TOWNSHIP.

EVERY TUESDAY AND THURSDAY, 7:30 A.M.,  GROUPRUN/WALK/BIKE/WHATEVER, COASTAL TRAIL - MIDDLE, (behind the Fort Bragg Fire Station).
