POMO BLUFFS

We hiked north along the coastal trail from POMO BLUFFS. Beautiful weather, nice and sunny, no significant wind. Hiking were Kelly, Nancy, Tom (back from their smokey river cruse), Sky, John, Joe, Eric, Jean, Charlene, Pat (with Leon staying behind), Beth, Bob, and, returning after a hiatus, Suzanne and Henry. 

Not sure where folks went to eat this time as I had another appointment.

NAVARRO RIDGE

The skies were overcast and the weather was nice and cool on NAVARRO RIDGE this morning. We did our usual walk up the road and back to the grange. Present were Eve, Gary, Jean, Charlene, Deb, Sam, Eric, Sky Joe, John, Pat, Leon, Beth, and Bob.

Afterwards about twelve of us enjoyed the pancake breakfast at the grange, now at $12.

GLASS BEACH

This time we hiked south on the coastal trail from GLASS BEACH, a very pleasant walk. Along the way someone spotted a bald eagle perched (see photo below). Hiking were Kim, Doug, Pat (with Leon staying behind), Beth, Bob, Nancy, Tom, Sky, Mark, Charlene, Deb, Sam, Jean, Joe, and Bonnie.

Afterwards eight of us went to Cafe One for a very nice breakfast.

MENDOCINO HEADLANS AND TOWNSHIP

A rare day on the Mendocino Coast.  Warm, just a gentle breeze, and beautiful blue sky dotted with cumulus clouds, couldn't have been prettier.

Pat and Leon brought along a couple they know from Houston, Sherry (sp.?) and Gary.  Also present: Zelda, Richard, Eve, Gary, Chris, Dave, Sky, Deb, Sam, Eric, Charlene, Jean, Mark, Beth, Bob, Bob C., John, Nancy and Tom (23, and I may have missed someone, sorry).

RUSSIAN GULCH

It was foggy and drizzly at Russian Gulch.  We had a good turnout.  I've been "fighting" with "Blogger" here for several hours and finally just deleted everything.  I'm going to keep this breif and get John's photos in and do the usual Roll Call.

NAVARRO RIDGE

A wonderful day up on NAVARRO RIDGE, sunny but cool with a touch of breeze. There was a good-sized crowd of us fogdodgers with a couple of newish faces: John, Joe, Deb, Sam, Tom, Diana, Jeff, Beth, Bob, Tess, Bruce, Sky, Pat (with Leon staying behind), Fran, Jean, Eve, and Gary/ On the way back toward the grange we ran into Claudette along with Judy and Dean. Bob was rumored to be running somewhere.

Lots o us stayed for the famous pancake breakfast at the grange. They have learned there lesson and built up a supply of pancakes so there was no waiting for them.

COASTAL TRAIL – SOUTH

We had a pleasant hike at COASTAL TRAIL – SOUTH this last Sunday morning. Hiking were Tom (Nancy is "in the shop" after an injury), Sky, Kelly, Mark, Joe, Fran, Jean, Charlene, Beth, Bob, Eve, Gary, Kim, Doug, Zelda, Eric, and Pat (with Leon in the car). It seem like this weekend has been particularly busy on the coast but, on this Sunday morning, things were not too bad. Several Fogdodgers had plans to attend the Comptche BBQ.

After the walk about eleven of us had breakfast at Denny's.

John was absent but sent me these two photos:

We took our usual hike around the MENDOCINO HEADLANDS as it was the day of the pancake breakfast at St Anthony's. Fogdodgers present were Richard Link, Nancy, Tom, John, Joe, Mark, Eric, Deb, Sam, Sky, Kim, Doug, Beth, Bob, Charlene, Jean, Fran, and later Pat, with Leon in the car. Did I miss anyone?

PT CABRILLO LIGHTHOUSE

This last Sunday we went to PT CABRILLO LIGHTHOUSE, a location we haven't visited for quite a while. The hike there is pretty short if one just goes down the road and back up so our group split up with some hiking north along the trails before turning to return to the parking lot while others lingered around the lighthouse and went south a short distance to the pond. At the pond some were lucky enough to spot a family of river otters who are making the pond their home, at least until the fish supply runs out. According to report baby otters are really cute.

Hiking were Deb, Sam, Nancy, Tom, Sky, Jean, Fran, Doug, Kim, John, Barbara Joe,Charlene, and Chris.

Afterward a group of nine of us went to the the Good Life for a very nice breakfast.

PUDDING CREEK TRESTLE

This past Sunday we walked starting from the south end of PUDDING CREEK TRESTLE. A medium sized group of long-time Fogdodgers did the walk: Nancy, Tom, John, Joe, Deb, Sam, Charlene, Kim, Doug, Sky, Eric, and Mark. Beth and Bob joined us a bit later.

Afterwards I gather most Fogdodgers went to Denny's for breakfast.
