Many of the group used the morning to "unwind" from Winesong, telling stories of the fun they had or what went right and what went wrong. Many Fog Dodgers volunteered to help out yesterday and had a good time in doing so. I talked with several people while tasting the wine and food that expressed an interest in walking or running with us, I hope they make that commitment.
Thanks to John Loomis for this morning's photos. As always, they add so much to the blog.
Rick told us this morning that he had read that the Big River Road will be closed for 10 weeks or so, as they are going ahead with some culvert replacements. I think we decided last week not to go to Big River again until the mosquitoes go into hibernation, so it will not be a big loss. It does though, further limit the number of suitable venues.
Because of traveling plans amongst the bloggers, a new blogger, Nancy B. has volunteered to help out when needed. And I think I'll post the next 4 or 5 weeks worth of walk/runs for awhile, until we all settle in for the winter. Okay, I've got to say it, sure hope we get some rain, there!
Unless this schedule is modified by subsequent blog postings, this is the plan. Do check each week though, just to make sure nothing has changed.
9/14 Ward Avenue
9/21 Russian Gulch
9/28 Caspar Logging Roads
10/5 J.S.F. Road 450 (off of Simpson Ln.)
10/12 Van Damme State Park
10/19 Caspar Logging Roads
I've not chosen Navarro Ridge Road or Ten Mile River Logging Road very often because they seem to be too far away for most of our group. I'm always hoping for some new venue and of course, we can do any location by request, just tell me.
Thanks John L. for the photos. |
