The Fog Dodgers invite all residents and visitors of the Mendocino Coast to join us on our weekly group runs and walks. We have runners and walkers of all abilities (and even some bikers) and we have only one "rule" - we start at exactly 8:00 a.m. on Sundays. Exercise at your own pace (1/2 hour out, 1/2 hour back) and experience the fresh Mendocino coastal air.

Fog Dodgers provides a fun, safe way to explore some of our local trails and back roads and to meet new friends. You can find out where we're going to be by reading the bottom of last week's post, then clicking on the "Our Routes" tab above. We average 15-20 persons each Sunday and typically half will go to breakfast together afterwards at a nearby restaurant.

WARD AVENUE

It was "warm" and sunny this morning at MacKerricher State Park.  At our start, it was 57 degrees and just a slight breeze.

Thanks to John L. for all of today's pictures
Here's a goose family at Pudding Creek
Like many, I use the excuse, 'I have trouble remembering names'.  I know, it's not right and I should use associations or something and make a better effort.  This morning, I really had trouble and I'm sorry.  I hope that I have everybody here.  I am happy that we had four new people join with us this morning: Steve (Thanks, Zelda), Alta and Jerry (thanks, Nina) and Cindy.  Also, returning after a 12 year absence was Patty.  I hope that all of you return.

Others present today:  Those mentioned above that brought new guests, Joe, Joel, Jan, Nancy B., Rick, Ron, John, Nancy and Tom (16).

Upcoming venues:
Sunday, July 30th, Pomo Bluffs-Noyo Bay
Sunday, August 6th, Caspar Logging Roads
Sunday, August 13th, Lake Cleone (starting from the parking lot)
Sunday, August 20th, Noyo Headlands Trail-North (parking lot by Glass Beach)
Sunday, August 27th, Van Damme State Park

See "Our Routes" above for descriptions.

On this morning's run, Ron pointed out that there weren't any young of the year gulls, only older ones.  That's not good.  He also found plastic litter.  That is common but also not good.  John came prepared to gather whole sand dollars but only found two.  Usually there are many.  That's one of the things that make our morning run/walks interesting, always something new!

I like next Sunday's run/walk for the views, from the Noyo Bridge and from Todd's Point and Soldier Point.  Hopefully, the weather will be nice.

NEXT SUNDAY, JULY 30TH  @ 8:00 A.M.:  POMO BLUFFS - NOYO BAY (see "Our Routes" above).

EVERY TUESDAY, GROUP RUN @ 7:00 A.M.: BIG RIVER LOGGING ROAD.

EVERY THURSDAY, GROUP RUN @ 7:00 A. M., VAN DAMME
