This morning, we ran and walked Jackson State Forest Road 400, down Covington Gulch and along Hare Creek. It was a very cold 39 degrees at the start but otherwise a beautiful Spring morning. The creek is flowing fast and clear and the Forget-Me-Not flowers were beautiful.
Present were: Pat and Bill, friends of the Banker's that were here last year also, Nancy B., Rick B., Fran, Kim, Joel, Maddelyn, Scott, John, Bob, Johnny, Brad, Neil, Cindy, Jim, Nancy T., Roger T., Nancy and Tom (20). Afterwards, 14 of us had a delicious breakfast at David's Restaurant in the Boatyard Center.
Next Sunday is The Boontling Classic, a really nice, small, local 5K race, for runners and walkers. It starts at 10:00 a.m. and that allows some of us ample time to show up for the 8:00 a.m. Group Run/Walk and do an abreviated run or walk as a warmup and then drive the 45 minutes to Boonville for the race. April 4, 2010 - Easter Sunday
It was one of those Easter mornings that you woke up and said, geeezus, look at this rain, nobody's going to run or walk this morning and for sure the Easter Bunny won't show. To my surprise, upon arriving at Hare Creek, it was reported that the Easter Bunny and a Helper Bunny had been seen racing off and laying eggs!
John properly advised us to watch for a suspicious person and posted the area with the attached "Wanted" poster. Then he and Joel raced off after the bunnies. They must have caught up with them, here's proof:
All in all, we had a great, wet, cold and fun Easter Egg Hunt/Run/Walk. Present were (several seen wearing bunny ears): guests, David and Cam, Brad, Johnny, Elaine, Deb, Sam, Larry, Cindy, Jim, Charlene, Ron, Joel, Nancy B., Rick B., John, Kennedy, Maddelyn, Scott, Kim, Nancy and Tom (22).
