We had a beautiful morning! While inland, the thermometers are pushing 100 degrees, at Ward Avenue this morning, we had something like 49 degrees with clear, sunny skies and hardly a breeze. There was a great low tide, but I don't know if anybody walked the beach. The exposed beach and intertidal reefs were very pretty, as was the bright blue ocean and white surf. On June 27th, there will be another low tide, even a little better, so we will probably go to Ward Ave. again then.
Thanks, John, for taking all of today's photos. I don't think any require descriptions, other than to say they are all local, and that they remind us of the significance of this Memorial Day weekend.
Present today: Jean, Fran, Pat, Gay, Mark, Charlene, Toni, Joe, Deb, Sam, John, Shari, Kim, Doug, Susan, Bruce, Nancy and Tom (18).
Next Sunday, we're going to check out JSF Rd. 450. We haven't been there for a long time. In the winter, it is too slippery with clay-like mud, in the summer, it can be dusty or sandy or sometimes, just right. Let's go see! It's five minutes east of the traffic round-about. If you click on "Our Routes" at the top of the page, you can see a map.
