Caspar Logging Road
Great turnout this morning. Good to see Johnny back running again - much better than working!
It was 43° when we started and 46° when we finished. But for those of us that took the southerly trail, it felt a lot warmer after making our way back up that hill!
As I said, it was a good turnout with Neil, Steve & Ora, John L. (thanks for today's photo), Toni, Larry, Johnny, Jim & Cindy, Mark & Gay, Jenny I, Jan & Mark, Rod, Joel, Laurie and Roger. Amazingly, there were no Nancys on todays walk!
Breakfast followed at Davids.
NEXT SUNDAY, April 1st @ 8:00 A.M.: TEN MILE RIVER LOGGING ROAD, see our routes above.
EVERY TUESDAY @ 7:00 A.M.: RUSSIAN GULCH STATE PARK, beginning on Point Cabrillo Drive, 1/10 of a mile north of its south end.
EVERY THURSDAY @ 7:00 A.M.: VAN DAMME STATE PARK, beginning at the beach.

MacKerricher Haul Road
Thanks, John, for this picture of the Pudding Creek Trestle. I can tell that it was not taken this morning by all of the footprints and the afternoon sun. This morning, the wind had blown the beach completely clean and flat. The wind even took John's hat this morning as we crossed the trestle. After the fact editing: I was wrong. It is a sunrise photo and the smoothed sand that I observed was only on the west side of the trestle.
Whoa, it was windy!! This morning, we met at the Pudding Creek Trestle, to run and walk the MacKerricher Haul Road. Temperature would have been okay, since it was 45 but with the wind blowing northwest steadily at 30 plus, it felt darn near freezing!
It was really nice to have Santa Cruz Sarah back for her second run with us and Anthony (Tony) from Healdsburg. Both Sarah and Tony were divisional winners in yesterdays Whale Run. Congrats to Nancy R., also a divisional champion! Also brave enough to run or walk this morning were: Joel, John, Gay, Steve, Nancy B., Rick, Nancy T., Roger, Toni, Cindy, Jim, Nancy and Tom (15). Nine of us joined Sarah's dad, Wynn, at David's for a very nice breakfast.

Big River Logging Road
Photos from John show what this morning was like, thanks John.
It was 48 degrees, calm and the morning showers broke, just in time for our 8:00 a.m. start at Big River. It was a real good morning for running and walking along beautiful Big River.
Present were: Jenny, Larry, Lindsey, Bob, John, Rod, Toni, Nancy T., Roger, Nancy and Tom (11).
Next Saturday is the Whale Run. For those that are not going to do it, we offer a second chance to walk or run the Haul Road on Whale Festival weekend. Don't know if you'll see whales but at least it won't be muddy. It is supposed to be rainy all week.
